My visit today was fine pre booked but unable to get appointments.
For that day by 8.10 am.
All appointments have gone!!1
Improvement is needed on the phoning systems to get through to the surgery
Getting through to the surgery.
Is harder and more time consuming.
It gives no option for ring back it and less chance to see a doctor, and get an appointment!
The old system was better!
The continuity of care - seeing the same doctor to discuss my ongoing issues.
It's difficult to know what Dr Steward is doing - he spends a lot of time on his computer and its's hard to talk to him then.
Understanding.
Hawkinge Health Centre has, until the last year, offered a superb service - good access to appointments, great GPs, nurses and receptionists. Unfortunately, we've lost our trusted and established GPs (through retirement/illness) and now some Doctors who, although perfectly pleasant, don't understand and are difficult to understand. My family and friends don't trust the GP care in Hawkinge as a result. The nurses and receptionists continue to be excellent and we have some great locums, but everyone I speak to in Hawkinge complains about the same issue - the new Drs don't understand and are difficult to understand. I don't have a problem with Drs whose first language is not English, but if it gets in the way of good quality medical care, it is a problem. This needs addressing and no one seems willing to speak out for fear of sounding racist. It's a language issue, not a racial one.
